On world mental health day…
(nothing profound, only honest words)
I’m weary.
I have caregiver burn out, too.
I’m devastated by the news coming from Israel.
I’ve refilled prescriptions for anxiety and depression.
I bought a big box of little tissue boxes to dry little tears.
I also: cuddled with S who has been having a string of bad days,
I hearted the laments of my Jewish friends on FB,
I made soup for dinner on a cool, late afternoon,
I called a friend,
I listened to a favorite musician,
I prayed, and made tea…
May the second list always outweigh the first. May all our long-sufferings turn into even larger hopes. Gently. Quietly. Peacefully. And in good time.
💚
