Nasal prep wins for this Spring in Texas! 🪻 Did you know the nose is so close to the brain? These natural sprays have help bring down the histamine load from the pollen we breathe in. Histamine gets released when we have allergic reactions. This overload of histamine affects the brain’s mood, energy, cognition, and other functions. In the Spring I do feel there is an uptick in mood & behavioral issues, including a bump up in facial motor tics. Like so many, I’m seeing more and more links between immunology, the nervous system, and our mental health. Hope we get to follow along on new research, while understanding Grandma’s old time recipes … Love the silver spray for mold (some don’t like this). There’s also a BEG spray for this. Love nasal crom (cromolyn sodium cuts histamine overload) for many allergies – really mild. The last inhaler is a treat with clove bud and a couple other herbal essential oils (oregano, bay). (Do not take as medical advice. No financial ties. This is just the extras I love to share with others.)

Over the next few months and potentially years, there might be more confusion and misinformation out there about medical treatments – what works, what doesn’t, what is yet to be determined. It can be easy to listen to a podcast or even just as easy to read or listen to a physician or researcher talk about what they know. But… the best place to read and learn what is actually happening in these studies and analyze it with someone who knows how. Go to the studies. Go right to them. You will find out who is doing the actual work in the field. Then do a search on that author and read what they authored. One of the best lessons I’ve learned is how to do a lit search on medical research studies (and how to determine the quality of these studies), individual case reports, and general lit reviews. Go straight to the articles! https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/

Dandelion roots are sprouting up. These are dirty with pesticides in most lawns, but fresh roots, leaves and even the flowerettes can be good for making tinctures, teas, jellies, etc. It moves our lymph at just the right time we need it. From winter to spring. Be sure to read about how this plant is not just a weed, but a healing balm with lots of helpful properties for our bodies. #leavesoftheearth #dresseswithpockets

May is coming up and is Lyme Awareness month. If you like to be outdoors though, tick season has already started. Be sure to know the safest repellent to use as well as how to remove a tick safely. in addition make sure that your dogs and cats have the proper medication to repel ticks and fleas. Any acute changes in neuropsychiatric symptoms should be evaluated for potential pans and this can lead to further diagnoses of illnesses, such as Borrelia Babesia and Bartonella. Mental health is also about infectious disease, neurological illnesses, and dermatological changes. We have so much to learn about these infectious diseases, as well as how to protect and further strengthen our immune systems. Be safe outdoors! ā˜€ļøšŸ’š
