Jean Dunham, M.D. has been a licensed physician in the state of Texas since 2005. She graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota with a degree in liberal arts. She then completed her medical training in Texas. She received her doctorate in San Antonio and then received her residency and fellowship training in Pediatrics, General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at what is now known as the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School Residency Programs. Dr. Dunham has spent several years working for the community mental health population and the foster care and CPS system as a child psychiatrist. She is a tireless advocate for children in a variety of capacities, currently serving on the Medical Advisory Board of her local school, previous Columns Editor of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry News, and previous consultant for the Office of the Inspector General of the state of Texas.
Dr. Dunham has three energetic boys who are constantly keeping her on her toes. She adores spending time with her family and helping other families not only to grow, but to thrive and flourish. In her spare time, she can be found reading, writing, walking and hiking outdoors, photographing wildflowers, and trying to identify central Texas birds. She now calls Texas home sweet home and believes in the healing powers of hugs.
